Yes, we are all stuck at home and traveling to exotic lands is out of the question. So, the only way to “get away” is through art and the imagination. Morocco has always been at the top of my wish list. With the sandy deserts, lively souks and Berber culture, I am called by its mystical charms.
So, when I heard that artist Monica Bryant was headed there on a retreat earlier this year – I was envious but thrilled for her. She was traveling with a group of artists and designers led by artists Jan McCarthy and Adele Sypesteyn. I followed along from home, watching Monica’s Instagram (@monikaiart) as she visited the Medina, Yves Saint Laurent Museum, Marjorelle Gardens, and the desert surrounded by the Atlas Mountains.

Monica returned (just in time for quarantine) with fabulous sketches and photographs that she has turned into her Marrakech series. Eight of her images have been turned into 8 x 8” prints now available in our store, at an incredibly affordable price. Why not collect them all!?
I hope you’ll check out Monica’s website https://www.monikaiart.studio/ and perhaps take one of her classes. Her Citrus Series also will put you in the mood for Summer - and lemonade!
I vow to someday visit the blue city of Chefchaouen, the red dunes of the Sahara and the glamour of a traditional riad. But for now, I will continue to pin to our Sahara Tour Pinterest board and gaze at Monica’s beautiful works.
